Who We Are

Non-profit Organization empowering adolescents and young people in farming communities.

The organization invests towards providing and supporting opportunities to capacitate and empower young people in farming communities to access opportunities to potentially move them out of the cycle of poverty and disempowerment.

Established in 2015, the Farming Community Educational Trust (FACET) is a registered not for profit organization aimed at empowering adolescents and young people (with special focus on adolescent girls), to protect themselves from STIs including HIV, unwanted pregnancies, early marriages, harmful cultural practices, gender-based violence and to promote equitable gender norms. FACET was founded upon recognising the structural as well as socio-cultural barriers to education in farming communities. These were leading to high school dropouts as well as early marriages. This is also coupled with broader child protection challenges which raises the need for a needs driven, grassroots focused intervention.
